Tatyana Kalinina is a Karelian artist and an Honoured Artist of the Republic of Karelia. In 1999, she opened a small private art gallery in La Roshelle Embankment. Before long, the gallery became very popular and at present, it is a local sight. The gallery called the “House of Dolls” is known both in Karelia and beyond it.
The gallery consists of three workshops where dolls are made and three showrooms.
Dozens of exhibition have been held at the Gallery. They were painting, graphics and photo exhibitions. Some batic and tapestry exhibitions as well as exhibitions of Karelian florists took place there. Such people of art as Dmitry Moskin, Badry Topuria, Vladimir Larionov, Boris Kukshiev and Egor Kukshiev displayed their works at the Gallery as well.
One could see works by artists from Veliky Novgorod, Saint Petersburg, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Surgut and Obninsk at the “House of Dolls”.
In addition, some Finnish artists and French children’s works have been on display at the Gallery.
At present, the “House of Dolls” has the name of its founder.
