From July 26 to August 14, in the framework of the implementation of the project “Different opportunities — equal rights — common living space”, a long “Northern Expedition” will take place in several Russian regions. The program includes visits to over ten cities and towns, and one of them is Petrozavodsk.

On July 25, on Onezhskaya Embankment of Petrozavodsk, the final show of national beauty contest “The Beauty of Russia 2008” took place. For the first time in history of one of the oldest Russian beauty contests (since 1995), the contest among the best beauties of the country was conducted on the shores of Lake Onego.

On July 1, a Russian top model, the face of Calvin Klein, Channel, and Jacob&Co Natalya Vodyanova came to Petrozavodsk for the celebration of the Day of the City. The reason was the opening of a new playground for children, so-called Children’s Town.
